1967 Ford F100

Here's the steps we took in painting a 67 F100. This truck was an extremely nice unit with absolutely no real rust. The original pink primer was still on the cab underside.

The truck was stripped to bare metal using a comination of stripper, sandblasting and sanding. Basic bodywork was done using plastic filler. The areas that needed a high build straightening recieved a coat of Z-chrome Rust Defender. This was blocked dry to 80 grit. We followed with a coat of VP-50 Valspar epoxy primer and then several blockings of Sunfil 92 series urethane primer.

The truck was sealed before the base with VP-50 epoxy primer reduced to a sealer. Then three coats of 333 series basecoat were applied. This was immediately followed by three coats of AC4400 premium clear.

The truck was colorsanded and cleared. It was eventually auctioned at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale AZ.
